#mercy
- Mercy — An interjection of Turkish origin historically used to express a desperate plea for mercy, forgiveness, or help in critical moments; mercy!, pity!. As a neuter noun, it describes the state of grace, quarter, or respite granted to a defeated opponent who surrenders, deeply rooted in the legal-military customs of the Ottoman influence era in the Romanian Principalities.
- Aman-zaman — An intensified form of the interjection 'aman', used to express a supreme, repeated, and ardent plea for forgiveness, time, or indulgence; with great pleading, on bended knee. In old popular speech or fairy tales, it represented the ultimate moment of surrender where a character begged for a final respite (zaman) or full mercy from their oppressor.
