#middle eastern dessert

• Baklava — A traditional pastry and confectionery product of Middle Eastern origin (specific to Turkish, Greek, and Balkan cuisines), prepared from thin layered sheets of phyllo dough brushed with butter, filled with chopped walnuts, pistachios, or almonds. After baking, this rich dessert with a specific structural geometry is heavily drenched in a hot syrup made of sugar or honey and rosewater or lemon.
