#naming vocabulary

• Astrenie — A rare onomastic or hagiographical variant, historically used in Romanian church manuscripts as a local adaptation for the feminine proper name Asteria or to denote an abstract regional form linked to stellar-astral influence in popular beliefs. In a religious context, it can refer to Saint Asteria (Astrenie), a virgin and martyr from the early Christian centuries, commemorated in synaxaria.
