- Allophthalmia — A rare disorder or structural anomaly of the visual apparatus characterized by a marked asymmetry of the optical axes, globe dimensions, or their position within the orbits, leading to a misaligned or asynchronous visual perception between the two monocular fields. In clinical practice, the term describes atypical cases of ocular deviation associated with congenital malformations of the orbital structures or extrinsic muscles.
