• Agib — An official title historically held, particularly within the Ottoman Empire's administration or medieval Muslim states, by a dignitary acting as a master of ceremonies, court chamberlain, or palace steward. • Agirsemâi — A historical term and archaic noun of Ottoman origin used in the past to denote an official tax, duty, or special tribute levied in the Romanian Principalities on specific categories of goods, transactions, or commercial activities regulated by the Turkish administration. • Alem — A traditional decorative element or metallic emblem, often in the shape of a crescent moon, globe, or spearhead, structurally mounted on top of flagpoles, military banners, or the domes and minarets of mosques in the Ottoman Empire. In historical Romanian documents, the term also referred to valuable ornaments received by rulers as a sign of investiture or recognition of authority by the Sublime Porte.
• Alems — The plural form of the neuter noun alem; ornamental metal finials, flagpole toppers, or traditional decorations shaped like crescents, spears, or spheres, historically mounted atop military banners or the domes of religious buildings in the Ottoman Empire. Structurally, these pieces held a major symbolic and heraldic role in defining religious or martial authority.

• Angiolello — A proper surname of Italian origin, introduced into Romanian historiography and onomastics particularly through the figure of Giovanni Maria Angiolello (1451-1525), a Venetian chronicler, traveler, and official who left highly valuable historical records about Eastern Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. As an onomastic structural entity, it represents a reference element in the study of old documents and early cultural and diplomatic relations.
• Lion — A noun of Turkish origin (arslan / aslan) literally meaning 'lion'. In the history of the Romanian and Balkan space, the term entered as a lexical loanword used either figuratively to denote a brave, strong, and courageous man, or as a proper name (first name or surname) borne by various historical figures and military commanders from neighboring empires, or assimilated into local onomastics.
• Collective petition — An archaic and corrupted phonetic variant in Romanian chancelleries for 'arzmahzar' (derived from Ottoman Turkish); an official collective petition, written memorandum, or public grievance signed by boyars, clergy, or community representatives and sent directly to the Ottoman Porte or the ruling prince. This structural document served as legal evidence of administrative abuses or as a solemn request for the recognition of privileges.
• Affront — Originally, an insult, outrage, act of violence, or flagrant injustice committed by Ottoman authorities against Christian subjects or foreign merchants, often for extortion purposes.
