- Anna Perenna — An ancient Roman divinity of the circle of the year, time renewal, and spring, festively celebrated on March 15 (the Ides of March), which coincided with the first full moon of the old Roman calendar. Her name structurally combines two Latin forms expressing the idea of continuity, perpetual flow, and cyclical regeneration of life, her popular festival being characterized by open-air picnics, songs, and wishes for long life held on the banks of the Tiber River.
