#panic attacks
- Androphobia — An anxiety disorder characterized by an irrational, pathological, and persistent fear of men or a deep aversion to the presence and characteristics associated with masculinity. This structural psychological mechanism often leads to intense panic attacks and severe social avoidance behaviors, being triggered, in most cases, by severe emotional traumas suffered during childhood.
- Anthropophobia — A severe and pathological anxiety disorder manifested by an irrational, obsessive, and uncontrollable fear of humans, human society, or social interactions. This clinical phobia goes beyond normal shyness, causing the affected individual to completely isolate themselves from the community to avoid panic attacks and acute psychological distress.
- Astraphobia — A specific anxiety disorder manifested as an irrational, pathological, and persistent fear of thunder and lightning, found in humans as well as some animals. This phobia triggers reactions disproportionate to the actual danger, causing severe behavioral changes such as self-imposed isolation, obsessive checking of weather forecasts, or acute physical manifestations of panic during storms.
- Astrophobia — A pathological, irrational, and persistent fear of stars, celestial bodies, constellations, or the vastness of outer space. This specific anxiety disorder can manifest through panic attacks, vertigo, profuse sweating, and a compulsive urge to avoid looking at the night sky or space-themed images, often being associated with the fear of the unknown, darkness (nyctophobia), or absolute void.
- Aviophobia — A persistent, irrational, and intense fear of traveling by airplane or any other flying apparatus. This anxiety disorder, often correlated with claustrophobia or acrophobia, triggers severe psychological stress and acute physiological manifestations, such as panic attacks, palpitations, and hyperventilation, causing the affected person to completely avoid air transport.
