#patrol vessel

• Aviso — A small or medium-sized military warship, characterized by high speed and enhanced maneuverability, used in the past primarily for transmitting orders, reconnaissance, escort, liaison, or coastal patrolling missions. In modern fleets, its structural role has been taken over by corvettes or light frigates, but the term continues to designate fast vessels destined for maritime surveillance.
