#plant disease
- Plant smut — A popular or regional term attributed to certain fungal plant diseases, especially smut or a specific form of anthracnose, characterized by the appearance of black, necrotic, coal-like spots on leaves, stems, or fruits. This condition destroys plant tissues and can compromise agricultural crops if not treated in time with specific fungicides.
- Ascochyta blight — An infectious plant disease (especially affecting legumes like peas, beans, or lentils) caused by parasitic fungi of the genus Ascochyta; it structurally manifests through the appearance of brown, circular or irregular sunken spots on leaves, stems, and pods, leading to tissue drying and significant crop losses.
- Bacteriosis — A generic name given to infectious plant diseases caused by various species of phytopathogenic bacteria, manifested by necrotic spots, wilting, tumors, or rot of plant tissues. In an agronomic sense, a bacteriosis severely affects agricultural crops and fruit trees, transmitting rapidly through water, contaminated tools, or animal vectors, drastically reducing productivity.
