- Ausonia — The mythical and poetic name given in antiquity to the region inhabited by the Ausonians, later extended in classical Greek and Latin literature as a solemn designation for all of Italy. In astronomy, it denotes a large main-belt asteroid (63 Ausonia), discovered in 1861.
