#primitive fungi
- Archimycete — A rare taxonomic term used to designate a primitive microscopic fungus from the Archimycetes class, characterized by an extremely simple cellular structure, often lacking a true mycelium or presenting an amoeboid unicellular vegetative apparatus. These organisms are studied in evolutionary biology as they represent one of the early stages of morphological transition between protists and the modern fungal kingdom.
