#pyarthrosis
- Arthropyosis — An acute or chronic infectious pathological process characterized by the accumulation of pus inside a joint cavity, associated with the rapid destruction of the synovial membrane and protective cartilage. This severe condition, clinically termed purulent septic arthritis, is caused by the penetration of pyogenic germs (bacteria) directly through trauma, non-sterile surgical interventions, or via the bloodstream from another infectious focus in the body.
- Arthrostomy — A surgical intervention consisting of creating a temporary or permanent opening into the capsule of a movable joint, aimed at allowing continuous drainage of pathological secretions or the direct introduction of therapeutic solutions. This procedure is typically applied in severe cases of septic arthritis or pyarthrosis, where pus accumulation requires constant evacuation to prevent cartilage destruction.
