- Refereeing — The act of arbitrating and its result; the officiating of a sports competition by enforcing the rules or the settlement of a commercial or political dispute by an impartial non-state tribunal. It represented a formal process whereby parties chose to avoid ordinary courts.
- Out — A technical term used in sports games (such as football, tennis, basketball, handball) indicating the position of a ball that is outside the official playing area bounded by lines; it also denotes the phase or situation where the ball leaves the court, causing a temporary stoppage of the match and its restart by the opposing team.
