#rural dictionary

• Wooden trough — An archaic or regional term used in certain isolated rural communities to denote a type of wooden vessel or a small trough used in the household for washing food or clothes. In other Transylvanian dialectal contexts, the word can be a rare phonetic variant for 'hălău', denoting a wooden chute through which water flows to a mill or a small pond set up for watering animals.
