- Ardan — The name of a locality (village) in Romania, situated in Bistrița-Năsăud county, administratively belonging to the Șieu commune. From a structural-geographical and historical perspective, Ardan represents an old Transylvanian settlement, documentarily attested since the Middle Ages, characterized by a traditional rural community, a hilly relief specific to the Transylvanian Plateau, and an economy historically based on agriculture and fruit growing.
