#silicosis
- Slaughter / Slaughtering operation — The working area in a mine where useful minerals are extracted, or the operation of slaughtering livestock in a slaughterhouse. In occupational medicine, the mining abataj is heavily studied due to the high risk of pneumoconioses (silicosis, anthracosis) induced by industrial dust inhalation, while in public hygiene, zootechnical slaughter involves strict regulations to prevent bacterial meat contamination and control zoonoses.
- Anthracosilicosis — A chronic and irreversible lung disease (pneumoconiosis) specific to coal miners, caused by the simultaneous and prolonged inhalation of coal dust and silicon dioxide (free quartz); a condition structurally characterized by the sclerosis of lung tissue, appearance of dense fibrous nodules, and destruction of alveoli. This severe pathology causes serious impairment of respiratory function, chronic coughing, marked dyspnea, and a high predisposition to cardiac complications or tuberculous infections.
