#soil texture
- Clayey — Containing a significant amount of clay, possessing its specific properties, or structurally resembling loam; refers specifically to soils, minerals, sedimentary rocks, or sticky impermeable substrates. In pedology, it describes a heavy, compact earth with high plasticity when wet, which retains water but becomes extremely rigid and cracked during periods of drought.
- Sandy — A regional or archaic term used to describe a soil, rock, or surface with a sandy, granular, or crumbly texture, which contains or structurally resembles arina (sand). In an agricultural context, it characterizes light, permeable, but nutrient-poor soils due to the high proportion of siliceous granules.
