#suffocate
- Asphyxiate — To cause asphyxia, to interrupt the flow of oxygen into the lungs or tissues, causing respiration to stop and suffocation due to lack of air or inhalation of toxic gases. When used reflexively ('a se asfixia'), it defines an organism's accidental or voluntary act of suffocating, leading to severe hypoxia or structural cellular anoxia.
- Asphyxiated — Suffering from asphyxia; a person or organism in a state of clinical suffocation due to an acute lack of oxygen and the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the blood. On a structural and biological level, it describes the state of respiratory-blocked tissues caused by airway flooding, inhalation of toxic gases, or strangulation, requiring immediate pulmonary resuscitation maneuvers.
- To bâhtisi — A regional popular term meaning to become deeply bored, to get tired of something, to lounge around, or to fall into a state of weariness due to inactivity. Physically and locally, it is also used to describe gasping or feeling suffocated in unventilated environments.
