#tonsillar
- Tonsillar — Pertaining to or relating to the tonsils (palatine tonsils) or the cerebral amygdaloid complex; located in the area of the tonsils or correlated with their immune or emotional function. In general medical practice, it describes structural elements like pits, arteries, or infections in the throat, while in neurosciences it refers to nerve circuits involved in fear and anxiety responses.
- Tonsillolith — A calcareous concretion or calculus of variable size formed within the crypts of the palatine tonsils, commonly known as a tonsil stone. It is structurally formed by the accumulation and calcification of cellular debris, food remnants, and bacterial colonies, frequently causing halitosis, foreign body sensation in the throat, and mild dysphagia.
