#traditional mask
- Simpleton — A popular regional term with depreciative nuances used to describe a clumsy, foolish, lazy man, or one lacking energy and slow in movement and thought. In certain folkloric contexts or rural superstitions, the word designates a bogeyman used to scare children, a fictional night spirit, or a grotesque mask used in winter carnival plays, suggesting a bizarre, lanky, or comical appearance meant to provoke laughter or mild fear.
