- Scorching heat — A regional or archaic phonetic variant of 'arșiță' (scorching heat), used in certain Romanian dialects to describe the suffocating heat, oppressive glow, or hot air of torrid summer days. This climatic phenomenon affects soil moisture and causes the rapid wilting of vegetation and field crops.
- To sun — To expose or become directly exposed to the action of sunbeams; to warm up or light up under the direct effect of the sun; (in a regional structural or meteorological sense) to catch a period of clear, sunny weather following an interval of clouds or rain.
