Definition
A lizard belonging to the Agamidae family, distributed throughout the warm regions of Africa, Asia, and Australia, characterized by acrodont teeth fused to the edge of the jawbones, a robust body, and a high capacity for adapting to arid environments. Many species possess the ability to change skin color based on temperature or emotional state, and structurally, unlike other lizards, they cannot autotomize (break off) their tails when endangered.
