Aliquant
Definition
A fractional part of a whole or of a number that does not divide it exactly, always leaving a remainder after the mathematical division operation. Unlike an aliquot part, an aliquant part is contained within a larger quantity a number of times plus a fraction (e.g., 5 is an aliquant part of 12, because it goes into it twice and leaves a remainder of 2). In old legal terminology, it described an unequal or residual share.
