Definition
A rhetorical figure of speech or syntactic error consisting of leaving a sentence or statement unfinished by omitting the expected correlative in a symmetrical structure. This structural phenomenon occurs when the speaker introduces a conditional clause or a structure like 'on one hand' but forgets or intentionally chooses not to deliver the second part ('on the other hand' or the main clause), leaving the sentence logically suspended, often to mimic spontaneous speech or emotional agitation.
