Anoectochilus
Definition
A genus of terrestrial plants in the Orchidaceae (orchid) family, popularly known as 'jewel orchids' due to their spectacular velvety foliage veined with brilliant gold or silver lines. These small structural plants grow wild in the shade of tropical rainforests across Southeast Asia and the Pacific islands, highly collected and globally valued for their leaf aesthetics, unlike most orchids cultivated for their blooms.
