Antifreeze
Definition
A liquid chemical substance (usually based on ethylene glycol or propylene glycol) which, when added to water in the cooling systems of internal combustion engines or industrial installations, considerably lowers its freezing point and prevents structural damage to pipes due to ice expansion; antifreeze. As an adjective, it describes the property of a compound to prevent the solidification of fluids at low temperatures.
