Author, printer, engraver, theologian, and great hierarch of Georgian origin (Iberia), Metropolitan of Wallachia between seventeen group eight and seventeen sixteen, canonized as a saint by the Romanian Orthodox Church; a prominent figure of the Brâncovenesc era who contributed structurally to the definitive introduction of the Romanian language into divine service and the development of medieval typographic art. His major masterpiece is 'Didahii', a collection of rhetorical sermons of exceptional stylistic value.
