Astroblastoma
Definition
A rare neuroepithelial brain tumor of glial origin, characterized by the abnormal proliferation of astroblasts (embryonic precursor cells of astrocytes). This type of neoplasm develops predominantly in the cerebral hemispheres of children and young adults, displaying on histological examination a characteristic arrangement of tumor cells in the form of perivascular rosettes or pseudorosettes, with cytoplasmic extensions anchored to the vessel walls.
