Augitite
Definition
An effusive, ultrabasic, and melanocratic igneous rock, completely lacking feldspars, composed primarily of large augite and magnetite crystals embedded in a glassy or microcrystalline basaltic groundmass. In structural geology, it represents a rare variety of volcanic pyroxenite.
