Glossary of Old Legal Frameworks and Regional Etymologies
- Assistant juror — A regional and archaic form, historically attested in the Transylvanian region, used to designate an assistant to a sworn juror or an assistant to a praetor. The term derives from a local structural adaptation of the Hungarian etymon 'esküdt' (juror) through the intermediate form 'așchiuț', and was used within old administrative and judicial institutions to indicate a public official subordinate to the main magistrate.
