#Old Romanian

• Whatever — An archaic and regional pronominal form functioning as an indefinite pronoun or adjective, meaning 'anything', 'whatever', or 'no matter what'. This term has been sparsely preserved in old ecclesiastical and legal texts from the Crișana, Banat, and Transylvania regions, used to express an undifferentiated totality or an unrestricted choice among elements.
• The very same — An archaic and regional feminine plural demonstrative pronominal and adjectival form (a variant of 'acesteași'), used to express absolute identity, meaning 'exactly these', 'precipitately these', or 'the very same ones'. Encounted in medieval legal, ecclesiastical texts, and chronicles of the intra-Carpathian regions, the term reinforces reference to previously mentioned feminine entities, emphasizing that they are identical.
• To cover — A regional and archaic term used in the dialects of Oltenia and Banat meaning to cover, wrap, or hide an object or a person with a cloth, garment, or blanket; a phonetic and structural variant closely related to the verb 'cutropi' or 'cotropi'. This word preserves archaic nuances from old rural life, describing the physical gesture of protecting by covering completely.
• To wrap tightly — A regional phonetic variant of the verb 'acutropi' or 'cotropi', used in archaic dialects, meaning to cover, wrap tightly, envelop, or protect an object or a person with a textile material or a blanket. This term documents the phonetic diversity of old Romanian rural dialects, where the vowel 'o' often closed into 'u' within specific regional articulation contexts.
• Regional bird name — A rare regional name used in certain folk dialects of the Balkan area to designate a species of nocturnal bird of prey or a type of small migratory bird; a word structurally preserved in the archaic rural lexicon. This term retains nuances of traditional avian onomastics, being very rarely used outside ethnographic texts or local dialectology glossaries.
• Sluggish person — A regional, popular, or archaic term used in certain dialects to describe a slow-moving, lazy, sluggish, or shiftless person; a word structurally used pejoratively within traditional rural environments. This qualifier preserves archaic nuances from old vernacular speech, being encountered extremely rarely, exclusively in folklore collections or dialectology glossaries.
• Gather — A rare archaic or regional term found in certain old dialects of the Romanian language, historically used to express the act of gathering, collecting in one place, or piling up goods or objects. In dialectological studies, the word is analyzed as an isolated variant reflecting phonetic and lexical shifts in rural mountain communities.
• Gathered — Having been gathered, collected in one place, amassed, or piled up; describing the state of goods, tools, or harvests centralized within a single space. The term represents the past participle of the archaic and regional verb 'a adăli', being extremely rarely preserved only in local dialects of certain rural or mountainous areas of Romania.
• Adam-Babadam — A regional, archaic, or legendary toponymic formula used in certain micro-regions of southeastern Romania to designate a remote, isolated place or an ancient settlement with obscure origins; also used in popular fairy tales as a compound proper name attributed to a mythological character or a giant from the beginning of time. This structural term retains nuances of traditional onomastics influenced by Turkish and Balkan lexicons.
• Traditional agreement — An archaic, regional, or dialectal noun form historically used in certain rural communities as a formal variant for a type of agreement, covenant, or treat offered following a trade. In historical lexicography studies, the term is recorded as a rare form, sometimes associated through contamination with the adălmaș custom in local border dialects.
• Lure — A rare archaic term or regional verbal variant found in old manuscripts or local dialects, historically used transitively to express the act of luring, enticing, deceiving, or attracting someone through sweet words or deceptive promises. In philological studies, the word is analyzed as an intermediate phonetic stage or a dialectal deviation prior to the stabilization of the modern literary form 'a ademeni'.
• Enticement — The act of luring and its result; an archaic or regional noun form used in the past in place of the modern standard term 'ademenire' (enticement/luring). It represents the process through which a person is attracted, deceived, enticed, or convinced through false promises, flattering words, or manipulative strategies, found in historical manuscripts and old legal texts.
• Lured — Having been attracted, enticed, lured, or deceived through fine words and false promises; describing the state of a person who has fallen prey to manipulation. The term represents the past participle of the archaic and regional verb 'a adămăni', used as a historical equivalent for the modern word 'ademenit'.
• Adamic — An archaic, popular, or regional adjective derived from the proper name Adam, historically used in place of the modern neologistic term 'adamic'. The word refers to the characteristics, traits, or state of the first man or primitive mankind, found sporadically in old translations of religious texts, homilies, or chronicles from the 17th and 18th centuries.
• Adamire — The act of adamizing and its result; a rare archaic term used to describe the hypothetical process of multiplication, spreading, or behavior of humans according to their primordial nature. In certain old dialectal contexts, the word could refer to the action of naming surrounding things directly and intuitively, replicating Adam's biblical gesture in the Garden of Eden.
• Adamul — An archaic or regional definite form of the proper name Adam, historically used in isolated rural communities to designate a prominent individual, a head of a family, or a local toponym (such as an estate, hill, or forest that belonged to an ancestor with this name). The term is analyzed in historical onomastics to study how the direct articulation of given names contributed to the stabilization of Romanian surnames.
• Deepening — An archaic or regional noun form historically used in place of the modern standard term 'adâncire' (deepening); the act of deepening, excavating, digging deeper, or the result of this structural process. It is found in old cadastral registries, boundary deeds, or technical documents from past centuries.
• Add — An archaic, regional, or popular linguistic variant of the transitive verb 'a adăuga' (to add); the action of putting something next to an existing item to increase its volume, number, value, or intensity. This term is frequently found in old legal texts, chronicles, or traditional culinary recipes from certain rural areas of Romania.
• Addendum — An archaic or regional noun form historically used as a variant for 'adaos' (addition), 'adăugire' (addendum), or 'supliment' (supplement); an extra element, additional clause, or annex introduced into an official document, will, or commercial contract to complete or clarify its core provisions.
• Addition — An archaic and non-standardized noun form, used in medieval and pre-modern Romanian texts to designate the act of adding or its result. It represents a historical equivalent of the modern word 'adăugare', describing the structural process through which a list was supplemented, a text was extended, or the volume of merchandise or money was increased.
