- Forest management plan — A fundamental technical, economic, and legal study regulating over the long term (usually 10 years) the organization, sustainable exploitation, and protection of a forest estate. In specialized language, it represents the mandatory official document establishing wood-cutting quotas and required reforestation works.
- Forest planner — An engineer or authorized specialist occupied with drafting forest management plans or with the technical and structural planning of territories, woodlands, and green spaces. In a narrow sense, it denotes the person who computes the production capacity of a forest estate, sets sustainable logging quotas, and designs soil regeneration works, acting as a designer of forest ecosystems.
- Female forest planner — A woman specialized in designing and drafting forest management plans or in the structural and landscape planning of territories. She performs the same technical, economic, and legal duties as her masculine counterpart, being responsible for forest plot inventory, calculating logging quotas, and establishing ecosystem conservation methods.
