#aortectomy

• Aortectomy — A highly complex surgical procedure consisting of the partial or total resection of the aorta, usually performed to excise a segment severely damaged by a massive aneurysm, acute dissection, or a vascular tumor. The excised segment is structurally replaced with a synthetic or biological graft to restore systemic blood flow continuity.
