#chronological marker

• In the year of our Lord — A Latin phrase used internationally to mark the numbering of years in the Christian era, literally translated as 'in the year of our Lord'. This structural chronological marker was introduced in the 6th century by the monk Dionysius Exiguus to align the calendar axis based on the calculated birth year of Jesus Christ, currently abbreviated as 'A.D.' and serving as the official standard in the universal dating system.
