- Alcarraza — A highly porous, unglazed earthenware vessel of Spanish or Moorish origin, utilized specifically for keeping and cooling drinking water. The cooling effect is achieved through the physical process of evaporation of the water that sweats through the clay's microscopic pores, lowering the temperature of the liquid inside even in extremely hot climates.
- Algor — An intense sensation of cold, severe chills, or extreme coldness of the body accompanying the sudden onset of fevers or vascular collapse. In forensic medicine and pathology, the term is also used inside the phrase 'algor mortis' to describe the natural postmortem cooling of the body.
- Antifreeze — A liquid chemical substance (usually based on ethylene glycol or propylene glycol) which, when added to water in the cooling systems of internal combustion engines or industrial installations, considerably lowers its freezing point and prevents structural damage to pipes due to ice expansion; antifreeze. As an adjective, it describes the property of a compound to prevent the solidification of fluids at low temperatures.
- Car refrigerator — A compact, portable, or integrated refrigeration appliance specifically designed to operate on board vehicles (cars, trucks, RVs, or boats), using power from the vehicle's electrical network (usually 12V or 24V DC) or directly from a standard grid. It is used for preserving and cooling food, beverages, or temperature-sensitive medical products during transportation or long-distance travel.
- Refrigerated truck — A self-propelled transport vehicle (van, truck, or box truck) equipped with an airtight isothermal body and its own mechanical refrigeration plant (cooling unit). It is used in cold chain logistics for the road transport of perishable goods, such as frozen or fresh food, flowers, and pharmaceuticals, maintaining a constant controlled temperature.
