#excommunicate
- To excommunicate — To exclude a person from the Christian community, to excommunicate, anathematize, or solemnly curse based on an ecclesiastical decree. In ancient Romanian legal and religious texts, it defined the supreme sanction applied to heretics or severe violators of church laws.
- Excommunicated — A person who has been excluded from the church community, excommunicated, or placed under an official ecclesiastical curse. In old popular speech, the word acquired strong pejorative connotations, being used as an insulting epithet for a wicked, stubborn, or faithless individual.
- Curse — To exclude a person from the Christian community through official anathema or excommunication, declaring them cursed; to curse, scold, harshly reprimand, or verbally abuse someone in everyday language. In the reflexive or passive form, it describes the act of becoming stubborn, malicious, or persistent in a mistake.
