- Agalmatolite — A compact and soft variety of pyrophyllite, talc, or hydrated mica, gray, greenish, yellowish, or reddish in color, having a fine texture and a waxy luster. Due to its mineral structure being easily carved, this mineral has been used since antiquity, particularly in the Far East (China, Japan), for carving statuettes, seals, amulets, or decorative art objects.
