#insect behavior
- Amorphophillous — Exhibiting an ecological affinity for plants of the genus Amorphophallus or being specifically pollinated by insects attracted to the decomposition odor of these irregular floral structures. In a broad sense, it describes organisms or biological vectors adapted to the specific microclimate and morphology of atypical gigantic inflorescences.
- Anemotaxis — A form of oriented positioning and locomotion of an organism or a mobile cell in response to the direction of wind or air currents. This behavioral mechanism, commonly observed in insects and birds, can be positive, when the organism moves upwind to track an odor or pheromone plume, or negative, when it moves downwind.
- Anthophyllite — In mineralogy, it represents a variety of amphibole (anthophyllite), a natural magnesium and iron silicate with a fibrous or lamellar structure; in botany, it can structurally refer to modified leaves composing a flower (perianth or reproductive elements); in zoology, it describes an organism or insect naturally attracted to flowers.
