Anemotaxis
Definition
A form of oriented positioning and locomotion of an organism or a mobile cell in response to the direction of wind or air currents. This behavioral mechanism, commonly observed in insects and birds, can be positive, when the organism moves upwind to track an odor or pheromone plume, or negative, when it moves downwind.
