- Anti-brush border antibody disease — Anti-brush border antibody (ABBA) disease is a rare autoimmune kidney condition, specifically a form of tubulointerstitial nephritis, characterized by autoantibodies targeting the LRP2 (megalin) protein in the proximal tubules, leading to acute tubular injury and progressive renal failure.
- Albuminuria — A pathological condition manifested by the abnormal presence or excretion of albumin in the urine, serving as a major clinical indicator of damage to or increased permeability of the kidneys' filtering membrane (nephrotic syndrome, diabetic, or hypertensive nephropathy).
- Antinephritic — Preventing, combating, or alleviating kidney disorders, kidney inflammations (nephritis), or painful attacks caused by nephritic colic; a medication, diuretic tea, or remedy utilized to protect renal function. In a clinical and pharmacological sense, it acts structurally by reducing renal parenchyma inflammation, stimulating diuresis, and expelling microcalculi.
- Azotemia — A biochemical condition characterized by the presence or abnormal accumulation of non-protein nitrogenous compounds (especially urea and creatinine) in the blood, resulting from a decrease in the glomerular filtration rate within the kidneys; the normal presence of these compounds in the body.
