#voltage
- Anode — The positive electrode of an electrical generator, galvanic cell, or electronic tube, or the electrode through which the electric current enters a conducting medium or a polarized device. In electrolysis and electrochemical corrosion processes, it represents the structural terminal where the oxidation reaction takes place, losing electrons and attracting negative anions.
- Self-induction — An electromagnetic phenomenon consisting of the production of an induced electromotive force within an electric circuit due to the variation of the electric current intensity flowing through that circuit; self-induction. According to Lenz's law, the resulting self-induction current has a direction that opposes the variation of the main current, manifesting as electromagnetic inertia when circuits are established or interrupted.
- Autotransformer — A special type of electrical transformer possessing a single winding on a common magnetic core, structurally serving as both primary and secondary windings through intermediate taps. This electrotechnical device is used for step-by-step or fixed variation of alternating voltage, offering high efficiency, small dimensions, and material savings compared to classic transformers with two galvanically isolated windings.
- Avometer — A portable measuring instrument, analog or digital, utilized in electrical engineering and electronics to determine the numerical values of the main electrical quantities within a structural circuit. Its name is an acronym formed from the fundamental measurement units it records: Amperes (current intensity), Volts (electrical voltage), and Ohms (electrical resistance); multimeter.
