- abătut — A clinical term used to describe the state of a patient presenting a depressed mood, apathy, profound sadness, discouragement, and a marked decrease in psychomotor energy. In psychiatric semiology, a dejected behavior is a core indicator (prodromal or central symptom) for major depressive episodes, dysthymia, adjustment disorders, or burnout syndrome, frequently associated with bradyphrenia (slowness of thought) and hypomimia (reduced facial expressiveness).
