- Angioplasty — A minimally invasive surgical intervention within interventional radiology and cardiology, used for the widening, restoration, or structural reconstruction of the lumen of a narrowed or occluded blood vessel. The procedure is well-defined by introducing a catheter equipped with an inflatable balloon at its tip, which is inflated at the stenosis level to dilate the vascular wall, frequently accompanied by the permanent placement of a metallic stent to maintain circulatory patency.
- Aortectomy — A highly complex surgical procedure consisting of the partial or total resection of the aorta, usually performed to excise a segment severely damaged by a massive aneurysm, acute dissection, or a vascular tumor. The excised segment is structurally replaced with a synthetic or biological graft to restore systemic blood flow continuity.
- Atrioseptopexy — A corrective surgical intervention consisting of the operative fixation or anchoring of the interatrial septum to correct a congenital structural defect, anatomical displacement, or septal instability. This surgical procedure restores the structural integrity of the dividing wall between the two atria, preventing abnormal mixing of arterial and venous blood.
