#sensor
- Self-orientation — The act of self-orienting and its result; a process through which a technical device, an autonomous vehicle, or a living organism independently determines its position in space and adjusts its movement direction or structural alignment without continuous external assistance. In robotics and aerospace engineering, it refers to the ability of missiles, drones, or solar panels to modify their angle based on data gathered by internal gyroscopic or optical sensors.
- Hearing — One of the five fundamental senses of humans and vertebrate animals, through which sound waves from the environment are perceived; a complex physiological function performed by the auditory system (ear, acoustic nerve, and cortical centers in the brain), consisting of transforming mechanical vibrations into nerve impulses.
- Whistleblower — An electromechanical, electronic, or optical device designed to detect an anomaly, a change of state, or a critical parameter and to automatically emit an alarm signal (audible or visual); in sports fishing jargon, it denotes the electronic sensor that signals line movement when a fish bites. In an administrative and legal sense (usually as a whistleblower), it designates a person who reports public or internal violations of the law within an organization.
